VRR Plans

As a lot of people know, the VRR Super GT Series is preparing for its second season, and I'm safely able to say that the VRR Super GT Series will be remaining on Gran Turismo 6 until Season 3 at the least. Demand is high enough and there isn't any rush to move our premier series to eighth gen yet. That doesn't mean we're just going to sit on our hands though.

I announced on GTPlanet earlier this week that the VRR S125 Kart Series was cancelled. At the time slot I had it in, there was no consistent interest, and I couldn't and still can't move it. I'd definitely like to do something with the karts, but for the time being that will be on hold.

VRR will still be moving things to eighth gen. Starting in June, two new things will be starting up that I am excited about. Primary focus for eighth gen for us won't be racing, but relaxing. VRR GTA nights will become a thing on the PlayStation 4 as a way of breaking the seriousness we do on GT6, and a way for VRR members to know each other outside of the racing series. In VRR GTA Nights, things will be organized like cruises, car shows, heists, races, and challenges that will hopefully be a night of fun. Registering for that will be opening up tonight, with a starting date to be determined.

Another primary focus will be on the upcoming F1 2015 game. VRR will be making its first attempt at a Formula One World Championship starting in August, and entries will begin being accepted on June 13 when the game is out worldwide.
